About This Item

Chatwin Books, 2017. Limited Edition. Broadside. New. Oversized Folio. 're-Branding' is a stunning collaboration between poet Jamaica Baldwin and artist Connie Fu. This is the first stand-alone publication of both author and artist and their first collaboration. Designed by Annie Brule, the broadside is issued in a limited edition signed by author and artist. Measuring 11 x 17 inches, it is printed on German etching paper. The edition will be limited to 226 copies. Jamaica Baldwin is a graduate of the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Pacific University Oregon and a 2017 Jack Straw Writer's Fellow. Her poetry has been published, or is forthcoming, in Rattle, Spiral Orb, Jack Straw Anthology, Hayden's Ferry, Third Coast Review and the Seattle Review of Books where she was the March 2017 poet in residence. She lives in Seattle and is currently working on her first book. Connie Fu is an artist from Detroit who works primarily in painting. After graduating with a degree in art history from Harvard University, she worked and showed in Seattle whilst expanding her visual vocabulary through forays into printmaking, ceramic sculpture, and mural work. Her interests lie in the experience of the body as lived-in space and object in the world, and the push/pull forces that constitute human relationships. She will be pursuing her MFA at Pratt Institute beginning in fall 2017. Annie Brulé is a typographer and designer of books, whose work appears in publications by the Smithsonian Institution, UCBerkeley, and the international GreenMap network, among others. She graduated Lewis & Clark College in studio art, and subsequently co-founded Chatwin Books publishing, where she holds the position of Design Director and most enjoys close collaborations with the artists and authors the company is privileged to work with.
