This is a complete run of this very important bibliographic/book collecting periodical edited by the legendary Ben Abramson who was one of the first to champion John Steinbeck, from Vol. 1, No. 1 to Vol. 2, No. 3, all issues, Steinbeck is specifically mentioned in the Vol. 1, No. 1 December 1936 issue, pages 4-5, 18, as well as in the March 1937 issue, page 13, the May 1937 issue, page 25, and the November 1937 issue, page 25, contributors include William Saroyan, August Derleth, and Vincent Starrett, very scarce, especially as a complete run, Goldstone & Payne G1, not recorded by Morrow, this was Steinbeck bibliographer Adrian Goldstone's copy with his bookplate, these 15 issues are bound in three-quarters morocco over red cloth, featuring five raised bands, gilt decor, and marbled endpapers, these are among the many articles: Ward Ritchie: Printer by Lawrence Clark Powell, H. P. Lovecraft: A Literoddity by August Derleth, Erskine Caldwell by P. S. Weil, H. M. Tomlinson by Herbert Faulkner West, W. Somerset Maugham by Claude McIver, Another Side of D. H. Lawrence by Harry Thornton Moore, Rockwell Kent by Emma R. Martin, Rare Books in the Newberry Library by Gertrude Loop Woodward, Kay Boyle: An Appreciation by Katherine F. Hirsh, Conrad by Lew Britten, Arthur Machen by August Derleth, William Sayoyan Get to Town by Saroyan, and many others. Rear panel of binding is dampstained with minor peeling of cloth, not affecting the contents, plus corner wear.
