Author was Pastor in St Paul's Parish in Portland, Maine and the book is dedicated to the communicants of that church. Frontis; 'Consecration of Archbishop Parker' is tissue protected. Preface by author is dated at Portland on St Matthew's Day, 1885. 266 pp. plus: Appendix- 3 Notes. Wallpaper ep's, brown boards with gilt text on front and spine, publisher's colophon blindstamped on rear panel. Book has bumped and scuffed extremities, 1 loose page (xv & xvi) in Contents.
