LONDON: Gollancz, 1938. A first edition, first printing published by Gollancz in 1938. A near fine book with a Book Society bookplate (uninscribed) designed by Robert Gibbings to the front pastedown. Small dink to the head of the spine. In the excellent dust wrapper which has a faint circular stain to the rear panel. Becoming scarce to find in such lovely condition with none of the browning to the spine.

Some light handling marks to the boards and a little rubbing to the bottom edge. In the excellent dust wrapper which has a minute chip to the top of the spine and a little light loss to the corners. Becoming scarce to find in such lovely condition with none of the browning to the spine.

LONDON: Gollancz, 1938. First edition, first printing. Published by Gollancz in London, 1938. A very good book with a small name and date to the front endpaper. Some fading to the gilt titles. Spotting to the page edges and top edge. Some rubbing to the corners and edges. In a very good dust wrapper, which has a minute chip to the head of the spine. The spine is browned (as is usual). Some light loss to corners. A very nice example of the wrapper indeed. The ALS, written in Du Maurier's hand is on 'Greyfriars, Church Crookham, Fleet, Hants.' headed and watermarked paper. Written in blue ink, it is inscribed "Dear Sir [...] It is a great encouragement to know that 'Renecca' appears to serious readers, beside the ordinary novel-reading public who read for excitement. Thank you indeed for writing. Yours sincerely, Daphne du Maurier". It is a stunning signature, with her hand bold and fluid throughout.
