a Riverside Bookshelf Children's Classic
355 pages with 38 Illustrations by Helen Mason Grose

Delightful reading for pre-teens, this engaging story is also sure to bring back pleasant memories to Rebecca's older fans.
"Talkative, ten-year-old Rebecca goes to live with her spinster aunts, one harsh and demanding, the other soft and sentimental, with whom she spends seven difficult but rewarding years growing up. When two unmarried aunts agree to take in their poor relation, they find that young Rebecca Randall is more than they bargained for. The opinionated youngster is definitely a handful. Rebecca's lively and enthusiastic nature eventually wins over all doubters, but not before she nearly turns the town of Riverboro topsy-turvy."
As you can see, the dust jacket is in terrible shape but it has done its job—the rest of the book is absolutely pristine.
This book has never been read and the spine has not been cracked. The pages are bright and spotless.
Bright clean boards in cherry red, with black lettering on the spine. There is a tiny bit of wear at the bottom of the spine.
