About This Item
London: Mayflower Books. Very Good+. 1969 (c.1967). First Paperback Edition. Softcover. [a nice tight copy with light external wear, primarily along spine]. Mass Market PB Novel about a "lapsed Irishman, successful London business executive [and] ardent womaniser [who] returns to Ireland where his father is dying after a pub brawl [and] finds himself challenged and tested, as a lover and as a man." This is a tie-in with the 1969 British movie adaptation (THE RECKONING being the film title), in which the protagonist returns not to Ireland but to Liverpool; the film's stars, Nicol Williamson and Rachel Roberts, are pictured on the book's front cover. Unaccountably scarce. .
