About This Item
1998 softcover as pictured. This is a reprint of the 1936 and 1941 originals, memoirs and musings of a Baltimore lawyer and politician born in Virginia at the onset of the Civil War. Bruce also wrote The Negro Problem, a disturbing example of late 19th century racist thinking which has unfortunately seen a resurgence in recent years. Binding is firm, spine is uncreased. Covers are rubbed and faded over spine with a few wrinkles at the fore. Inscription inside front cover by author's granddaughter. Text appears clean and unmarked. No jacket.
