H.M.S. 'Orion' was laid down in Devonport Dockyard in 1931 and launched in 1932. 'Orion' first commissioned on January 16, 1934 at Devonport for service in the Second Cruiser Squadron. Printed for those on the commission. Illustrated with numerous black and white photographs and drawings and a front endpaper map. A range of interesting appendices includes a nominal list of the ship's company by designation, sporting events and trophies won, and a mileage table.
