One of 300 copies, this copy unnumbered but with the very scar ce photographic plate opposite page 276, "George W. and Anna L.Ma rston and their Grandchildren". Includes a day-by-day journal of Gunn’s trip on horseback across Mexico on his way to the gold fields and Elizabeth Gunn's contemporary account of her trip arou nd the Horn to California." Wheat 85. Howes M-324. Also includes an account of a ten years' residence in Sonora, 1851-1861, and ac counts of later years spent in both San Francisco and San Diego.. Good. Small tape repair to top edge front cover, edges and cor ners lightly rubbed. This copy ex-libris Ruth Ann Newport, Histor ian for the County of Tuolumne Calif. with her small blind-stamp at bottom of title page and last leaf. .
