About This Item

Geoffrey Trease - Red Comet : A Tale Of Travel In The USSR; illustrated in b&w by Fred Ellis - Moscow, 1936, First Edition - 211pp - 19x14cm

Condition Very Good: Cover some minor damage at corners & edges and pages a bit discolored. Otherwise no issues at all; clean, tight, complete - a great book.

Red Comet was the first British book aimed at children to describe life in Soviet Russia, and was designed to inspire British children to want to create a socialist state at home. Trease sought to write for children in a way which would stimulate their intellect as well as their imagination.
