About This Item

NY: Jonathan Cape Harrison Smith. FINE book. Initialed limited illustrated edition. #116 of 250.. (1929). 1st limited ed. Hardcover. FINE book, VG DJ(in Brodart). TEG. Black cloth, black eps & pastedowns. Gilt spine lettering, gilt Karakhan image on cover. . 8vo, 475pp. TEG. The limited ed has about 2 dozen full page plates not in the 1st trade. In text b/w illustrations the same in both. The fold out battle map is between pages 412 & 413 rather than book's end. Very nice book & DJ. Top edge & cover gilt bright as new. Fore & bottom edges, & all of book's contents, as clean & white as new. ZERO marginalia, aging, foxing, soiling, etc. Inked name & adress on half title page is sole flaw. Dramatic DJ with $2.50 price. DJ spine with hint of sunning. Extrems with minor wear, a few 1/4" max chips or closed tears. Same scowling face on DJ & book's cover. Impressive book & DJ. .
