Folio.iv, 152pp. 60 engraved full page monochrome plates, followed by twelve additional monochrome plates in the Supplement collected from ancient illuminated manuscripts.


Contemporary half leather, marbled paper boards. marbled endpapers. Spine in six compartments, gilt. The binding is scuffed and worn, especially at the edges, but intac;, the upper hinge has a neat repair; and the boards are rubbed. The binding is good only, but the textblock is very good and fresh.


Large Paper edition: 9½ by 12 inches.


With the engraved bookplate of Justin Austin Sperry. On the front free endpaper is pasted a chromolithographed picture of a person who, from his clothing, is a Renaissance lawyer.
