About This Item
Washington, DC: U. S. Government Printing Office, 2004. Wraps. Very good. No dust jacket as issued.. iii, 79 p. Footnotes. Serial No. 108-83. The Cross Sound Cable was described as the first of its kind, merchant transmission project and had been approved by the Environmental and Siting Agencies of New York and Connecticut. It was approved by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Public Utility Commissions of both States found that the project would benefit the consumers in their State. When the project was unable to comply with its permits, the owners immediately contacted the appropriate agencies. The State of Connecticut then 'shut it down completely'. This hearing was to examine the benefits of the project and whether the Department of Energy had authority they could exercise in this matter.
