Amsterdam, c. 1700. Copper engraving, 38 x 51 cms, original hand-colour, blank verso. Part of the Pays Boulonnais in northern France. Petrus Schenk and Gerard Valk often worked in partnership, towards the end of the Dutch Golden Age, when the United Provinces still led Europe in the field map-making. Together they purchased the copper printing plates of the famous Janssonius firm and reissued them under their own imprint. Map

c1690. Two ornamental cartouches, flanked with cherubs, one contains the title, the other the scale, both on top of map. North is to the right of map Copper engraving. Original colour. Very good condition, excellent margins, slight browning along centrefold. Size: 50 x 33.5 cm. (19½ x 13 inches)

Hand colored map- Circuli Austriaci Orientalior Pars ; in qua Austria Propria : et ab ea Dependentes, Tum Ducatus, Stiriae, Carintiae, Carniola Tum Comitatus Hisce Inclusi, Cillensis et Goritiae Singuli Subdivisi. [Amsterdam]: Gerard Valk, Circa 1695. 58 cm by 50 cm. Book condition: Good. This map once resided in a folio book. The edges are lightly chipped, and bear multiple small closed and open tears. There are numerous library stamps and markings on the rear. There are also a couple of small pieces of tape on the rear. This is a lovely brightly colored map.

Amsterdam: Schenk & Valk, [c.1690].. A copper engraved map on laid paper, colour cartouche in lower left corner, coloured coats-of-arms in upper corners, entire map coloured. Several coloured sailing ships and a compass rose. Inset map of the mouth of the Amasis River in the lower right corner, with elegant decorations around it. Imprint at bottom: Prostant Amstel apud Petrum Schenk, et Gerardum Valk, C. Priv. Plate size is 49cm x 37.5cm, on a sheet measuring 60cm x 51cm. Verso blank. A few yellowed marks from old tape repairs to verso, "Page 62" in pencil on verso, some wear along central fold, a clean very good copy. A handsome map, nicely coloured. Based on Blaeu's map, first published in his Appendix of 1630.

Amsterdam: Gerard Valk, 1700 Engraving 48,5 x 58 cm, old color in outline (green somewhat oxidized). A good copy of a map depicting Denmark, Sweden, and the surrounding regions. It was published by the Dutch engraver and cartographer Gerard Valk (1652-1726).
