About This Item

(London: John Murray, 1841). 12mo; full brown calf, ornately gilt; all edges gilt; pp. xxviii + (ii) + 170; frontis. portrait; illustrations in text. Upper board detached, but present; contemporary gift inscription to fly-leaf; some foxing to outermost leaves and occasionally elsewhere. Good condition, but note that upper board will require re-jointing. A humorous, and apparently very capable, series of parodies of contemporary authors, first published in 1812. .
