About This Item

London: Conway Maritime Press (Chrysalis Book Group), 2005. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Folio: 12 - 15" tall. An introduction to the history of cartography as concerned with the art of map-making as the science. Hardcover in terracotta boards with silver titling on the spine. Colour illustrations throughout. Bibliography and Index. Mildly worn dust jacket is a bit loose: the fold to the front flap has been stretched and mis-formed by, I suspect, being used a book mark. Binding square and firm. Text block has a mild wave through it. Mild wear otherwise. No markings by any previous owner.

About Pulp & Circumstance

Welcome to Pulp & Circumstance on Biblio. Once a brick and mortar bookseller, I am pleased that I can now offer scarce and/or collectible books and other items via this platform.

P&C strives to ensure that all items are clean and fairly described. Packages will be wrapped with care and dispatched as soon as feasible, usually on the next business day.

We do not use stock photos. All our photos are of the actual item offered for sale. We try to include the publishers' own descriptions of content by including photos of dust jacket flaps and back covers so far as they seem useful, and we also use photos to show material flaws where we can.

The "Pulp & Circumstance" watermark you might notice in some of our photos does not, of course, appear on any of the items themselves.

Please note that the colour in our photos often fails to come out right. The hue shifts a bit due to the limitations of our equipment, the lighting in our workshop, and of course my own lack of photographic expertise.

Shipping costs per book are always cheaper when more than one book is sent in the same package. Read more about shipping charges in "Terms of Sale" below.

Feel free to ask any questions you might have by email. We will usually respond within 24 hours. Happy browsing!
