Per WikiTree, "The defendant had for some time resided in the neighborhood, and, after many months of intimate acquaintance, had engaged the affections of Mary, and it was expected that they would soon be married; when, in the last days of December, 1859, Mary was taken violently ill, and on the second day of January, 1860, after an illness of scarcely one week, died." (WikiTree) Hardcover. Blue cloth binding with gilt decorative the cover. Quarter binding in burgundy leather. Raised bands and 22-karat gilt lettering and decorative gilt designs adorn the spine. Beautiful marbled end pages in blue, yellow, black, gray and white color themes. All gilt edges. Edges bear minimal scratching. Very light rubbing on the cover. Pages are in pristine condition with no creasing, marginalia or environmental markings of any kind. Light blue silk ribbon bookmark. Original letter to Notable Trials Library member is NOT present. Indexed. 263 pp. Special notation page dedicated to special edition on last page. A beautiful copy. Full refund if not satisfied
