New-Haven: Davis & Force, Cushing & Jewett, et al.; printed by S. Converse, 1822. 1st Edition. Leather. 400p. REBOUND. A hardcover book rebound in modern 3/4 leather with marbled boards. Very good condition overall. Pages lightly age-tanned. Occasional small crayon markings in the margins. Very light edgewear to the folding map, including a closed tear measuring about 1 inch. Binding is tight and the new leather binding is clean and handsome. Lacks the errata slip, but includes the frontispiece and folding color map of the United States. Howes M-843. Jedidiah Morse (1761-1826) authored geography textbooks that were widely used in American schools.
