Rebound in modern tan cloth with black and crimson leather spine label stamped in gilt. Ex-library [Library of Congress] with usual library markings.
Boards are worn with loss of cloth around edges, general staining and sunning. Additional loss at top of front joint, but binding is sound. Signs of dampstaining to top top edge of text block. Pages toned and stiffened with dampstaining to final 20 pages. Also bound too tightly towards rear, slightly affecting text. Good but serviceable
Alexander James Dallas was the first U.S. Supreme Court Reporter and would later serve as Treasury Secretary under James Madison.
