1860. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. 36th Congress, 1st Session, Ex. Doc. No 56. REPORTS OF EXPLORATIONS AND SURVEYS, to Ascertain the Most Practicable and Economical Route for a Railroad from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean. Made Under the Direction of the Secretary of War, in 1853-5, According to Acts of Congress of March 3, 1853, May 31, 1854, and August 5, 1854. Volume XII, Book II. Washington: Thomas H. Ford, 1860. 4to., half-bound leather over marbled paper-covered boards, speckled edges. Ex-library. As is: front board, ffep and fly-leaf disbound, but present; with rear board starting and binding beginning to crack at the spine, much of which is lacking. One mammal plate is lacking, one bird plate is disbound but present, and a couple are starting; one reptile plate appears to be misnumbered, but the images correspond to the plate list; one fish plate is evidently lacking but two are present which are not listed in the contents. Volume as is though about very good internally; several plates are darkened, and there is the occasional spot of foxing; one bears slight wear to the margins.
