Detailed account of the rescue of the Danish Jewry, discussing the "dramatic clash between anti-Semitic nazism and Danish democracy which convulsed Denmark in the first days of October, 1943. The persecution of Danish Jewry by the Nazis, the failure of this persecution, the position of the Jewish community during the crisis, the rescue operation, the vital role played by the neighboring Swedish people - all are recounted in careful detail" (from front flap).
