Book Condition: Very Good; dust soiling and small spotting to text block top and fore edge; bumped head and tail; bumped top tips; slight wear-through on lower tips. No DJ. Red cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine and front board; black designs, initials and borders on spine and front board. Internal hinges are sound and not split or cracked. 305 pp 12mo. Pemberton (pen name Reuben) was a college educated humorist from Missouri who practiced law, edited a newspaper, and traveled through Europe, took an active part in politics, and was a successful lecturer. This volume contains some of the good things he has written and spoken. A clean very presentable copy.
