About This Item

First published In London by John Lane, The Bodley Head in 1915. No library distinctions, Tinge of toning, else content appears as unread and unblemished with very Very Good, dark blue, cloth covered boards displaying minor surface/edge wear. Many of my books are from the 19th & early 20th Centuries. Books were not written in at that time, instead an index card with info. Am enclosing the one found in this book for you. Enjoy.

As in Paradise Lost, the angels are in revolt against God. On this occasion, their ringleader is inspired to rebellion after reading some books on philosophy and science.

Anatole France's 1914 satire of war, government, and religion offers an ever-resonant protest against violence and tyranny.
