Weight: 1 lb. 12 oz. Margaret Walker (1915 - 1998) was an American poet and prominent Black writer. She was part of the African-American literary movement in Chicago, known as the Chicago Black Renaissance. Her notable works include the best-selling novel Jubilee (1966), set in the South during the American Civil War.<br /> <br /> INSCRIBED / SIGNED in SUPERIOR CONDITION: Tight, clean, unmarked copy with a few traces of edgewear to the bright unclipped dust jacket. Apart from the inscription to the Mayo's, no marks by previous owners or remaindering.
