Reprinted from the 1907 Kerr edition Paul Lafargue was a French revolutionary whose four grandparents were a French Christian, an Indian from Jamaica, a Mulatto refugee from Haiti, and a French Jew. He married Laura Marx, daughter of Karl. in 1868.Their three children all died in infancy and they threw themselves into political work translating Marx's work into French and spreading Marx's ideas. During much of this time they were subsidized by Friedrich Engels.
