Thomas Nelson and Sons Ltd, London, 1964. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Good. Illustrator: Anne Linton. Black-and-white illustrated frontispiece and drawings within the book have all been executed by Anne Linton. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Four children are sent to their grandfather's house, Ringer's Roost, while their father is ill. Unfortunately the grandfather doesn't seem to be in the house or even expecting them, and adventures ensue. Softening of the back strip edges and rubbing of the book corners and lower book edges. Bumping of the lower book corners with Browning and foxing of the text block edges. Browning and some foxing of the pages. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and back strip corners. Rubbing of the dustwrapper panel and either side of the back strip. Foxing to the verso and original price sticker to the lower right hand corner of the front fold over panel.
