New York: Thomas Y. Crowell & Co., c1884, 1907. Reprint of 1907. Very near fine in its original olive drab cloth covered boards with elaborate gilt text on the spine and on the front board designed by Margaret Armstrong in an art nouveau style. An octavo of 8 1/8 by 6 inches with the cloth over the spine faded to a light brown and with a dated (1907) Christmas gift inscription in ink on the first free end page 132 pages of text (some of which remain unopened). Illustrated with a color frontispiece from an engraving and with 17 black and white plates from engravings. The author's first play.
