Macmillan, 1937. 1st edition. Hardcover. Fine royal navy blue cloth with bright gilt spine lettering, very slight rubbing at lower corners. The pages, endpapers, plates and maps are all in fine condition, too. An extremely nice copy of the author's most famous travel book, recounting his experiences mostly in Persia and Afghanistan, his last major work before his untimely death in 1941.
