FINE/fine. 349pp., 33 illustrations and 9 maps, including a double page map of the route of exploration made by Neighbors through West Texas in 1854, index, footnotes, biblio, brown cloth, gilt spine titles, price unclipped dj spine faded, in mylar.
Neighbors arrived in Texas at the age of 20 during the revolution and was assassinated in the line of duty in his forty-fourth year. He took part in the most important developments, he served as an officer in the army of the Republic of Texas, as a Texas Ranger and prisoner of war in Mexico for two years, he was appointed commissioner to organize the counties of West Texas an an Indian Agent for Texas and the U.S. His progressive Indian policies would cost him his life.
