Folio. 2 volumes bound in one large in-4 volume (41,4 x 25,5 cm), ; ater green morocco chagrin, spine ribbed, beige parts, speckled edges (modern slipcase). First Parisian edition, rarer and more sought-after than the Roman original of 1651, of Bosio's work, translated into Latin and illustrated by Paul ARINGHI with woodcuts in the text and hors-texte etchings, including the frontispiece, and a folded map representing the plan, the sarcophagi and the decorations of the Christian catacombs of Rome. Ink stains to the browned frontispiece, some freckles and stains, missing and stained title page, frontispiece and folded map rebound, binding rubbed, later endpapers.OCLC Number 836684868 .
