Eyre & Spottiswoode,, [1957]. 8vo., Second Impression, some light offsetting from fold-ins to free endpapers; burgundy cloth, gilt cloth, a near fine copy in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter very faintly browned at extremities. With dustwrapper artwork by John Minton. Published in the same month as the first edition. The author's first book, a pivotal novel of the 1960s and the basis of Jack Clayton's feature film (1959) starring Simone Signoret and Laurence Harvey. VERY SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION.
