Philadelphia: Edward Stern, 1906. Very good minus.. Inscribed first edition of the first Roosevelt bear - "Teddy" bear - book, with an additional signed studio photo of the author laid in. The two Roosevelt Bears, Teddy B. and Teddy G., leave their home out West to set off on many adventures. Eaton's signatures are rare. A unique copy. 11'' x 8.25''. Quarter green cloth, paper boards with pictorial paste-on. Illustrated by V. Floyd Campbell with 16 color plates plus a profusion of black-and-white in-text images. 180, [2] pages. Inscribed by Eaton, dated 1906, on front free endpaper. Studio photo of Eaton, inscribed by him on the verso, additionally laid in. Numerous repairs to binding around joints and edges, hinges repaired, margins of a number of leaves repaired.
