In green cloth-covered boards with gilt titles and decorations front and spine. 8vo. Cloth rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. Spine sunned. Hint of toning to endpapers, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Contains details and transactions of the National Rose Society for 1947, together with a series of articles on roses and their cultivation. Articles include Growing Roses under Difficulties; DDT and Rose Pests; Soil Variety and Colour; Roses for House Walls; The Amateur Hybridist; New Roses for 1946; Skegness Rose Thief's Retort. An elegant into Rose gardening the old-fashioned way.
