About This Item
London: Ward, Lock & Bowden; (no date). Hardcover. Early reprint circa 1880's, very good in decorated cloth lacking a dust jacket. Red cloth with decorations on the spine and front board. Fairly minor soiling to the red cloth, endpapers are browned, but the rest of the pages show only minor toning. Page 133/134 has a small triangular piece missing (about 3" at most) that does result in a small loss of text. The spine has the gilt title near the top, then a drawing of a bullet-shaped capsule with a man looking out at the full moon. The front board has a much larger illustration of the bullet-shaped capsule flying through clouds toward the full moon. Curiously, the book is bound upside down. 147 pages plus 4 pages of ads for households items and medicinal cures, then 6 pages of ads for the publisher's books.
