Liverpool: Printed by Lee and Nightingale , 1901. First Edition, First Impression First Printing. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket As Issued. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Burgundy cloth with gilt titling to upper board: bright with slight fading to spine; wear to corners, spine tips and bottom edges; some rippling to cloth and a couple of small stains. Offsetting and minor foxing to endpapers and preliminaries. Firmly bound. Paper lightly age-toned but contents clean without bookplates, inscriptions or other markings. 90 pp; b/w illustrations. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Originally part of a course of lectures to the Cadets of the School-ship Conway at Liverpool, given with the view of directing attention to some matters likely to interest young sailors arriving on a foreign coast or at a foreign port. The lectures were originally published in the Mercantile Marine Service Association's magazine 'Reporter' and reprinted here for the first time in book form. Scarce title. All orders professionally packed, tracked and/or signed for, and insured.
