New custom leather binding with raised bands to spine, nautical stamped decorations to compartments, blind stamped sailboat to front board, gilt titles and borders. Inner edges dentelle. T.E.G. Marbled endpapers, new binder's blanks. With protective paper jacket. 371 pp. Frontis. portrait of Conrad w/ printed tissue guard. Roughly cut edges. Fore edge of text block age toned and embrittled, very faint foxing to tail edge. About fine. The Rover is the last complete novel by Joseph Conrad, written between 1921 and 1922.
