Signed. Edward Steichen included Roy Decarava's photographs in the 1955 Museum of Modern Art exhibition, 'The Family of Man'. In 1952 he became the first African American artist to receive a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship. He's originally from Harlem and his subjects are from contemporary urban culture. His photographs are in black and white. Roy DeCarava has signed on the flyleaf facing the title page (signature only).
