About This Item
Bovington Camp, Wareham: Royal Rank Corps Center. Quarto. May 1928-April 1929. 442p. One of the most important sources on tank development and theory of usage in the period between the World Wars. Full page photographs of King George reviewing the Officers (p. 51-58); B.H. Liddell Hart's article on "the Army and the Future--Lessons of 1928" Articles on modern anti-tank weapons translated from the German and also Friz Heigl's articles on the new light tanks (using his own translation from into English so awkward but full of details). J.F.C Fuller's article "The Ancestors of the Tank" p. 331ff with illustrations. Captain MacWatt's article "Aim Off Simplified" is well illustrated with drawings and statistics which some argue was ahead of its time. Many other articles as well as the physical training and sports of the men. Library deaccesion bound in library buckram, evidence of bookplate removal from front and rear pastedowns, some soiling to covers, all pages clean and easy to read. (Note: We have checked with the Tank Museum Bovington and they do have a complete set; the Liddell Hart Center at King's College has some gaps, the Australian War Museum has all but the earliest copies; Texas A & M has vol. 5-17).
