Soft crushing to spine ends. Noticeable tanning to spine and edges. Light marks to boards.

Head & foot fo spine with thin bumping, moderate rubbed wear and tiny cracks/splits. Light rubbing to some of the extremeties. Few only faint foxing to edges. Soft greying to head edge. Sprinkling of foxing to Title page and eps. Other than a few only pages with very faint foxing to their margins has quite clean content, b/w illustrations, binding very good. 410p. First Edition. Hb. VG/None.

Original red cloth covered boards stamped with a gilt illustration of the 'Ophir' on the upper front board, boards discoloured and a little flecked, head and tail of spine worn with minor loss, but a good firm copy. 19 x 12.5cm. An account of the enormously popular nine-month tour that the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George V and Queen Mary) made of almost the whole of the British Empire with the exception of India. Includes much on Australia and New Zealand as well as chapters on Aden, Ceylon, South Africa and Canada. .
