His "Samlinger til de danske Øers Laalands og Falsters Historie" (first published in two volumes 1776-94) contains interesting details on the customs, life-style, superstition and folklore of the Danish islands Lolland and Falster. The 1859 edition includes many changes, additions and corrections.

In 1730 the company built a post close to the ruins of the original fort. This post has been in continuous operation to the present day.
