About This Item
[DULAC, Edmund]. Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám. Rendered into English Verse by Edward Fitzgerald. With Illustrations by Edmund Dulac. NY and London: Hodder and Stoughton (ca. 1915). 4to, [124]pp. Red cloth decoratively stamped in gilt. 20 color plates with captioned tissue guards. Spine ends and corners a bit worn, spine lightly sunned, previous owner's nameplate affixed to front fixed endpaper, pages slightly aged at edges, else a clean copy with all color plates in fine, bright condition.
Early printing, ca. 1915 (bearing a dated inscription) closely resembling Hughey 21h but with some interesting differences. A collection of poems by the Persian poet, mathematician, and astronomer Omar Khayyám wonderfully captured in the lush, intricate watercolors of Dulac's gorgeous color plates.
