New York: Charles Scribner, 1901. Book. Illus. by W. Appleton Clark, Illustrator. Very Good+. Hardcover. First Edition.. Very nice first edition bound in 3/4 leather and marbled boards. Dark blue leather with raised ribs, gold and red decoration, gold lettering on spine. Light rubbing to corners and edges. Marbled boards are clean. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. Clean, beautifully marbled endpapers - no names, writing or bookplates. Gilt top page edges. Title page done in black and red, with nice frontispiece illustration and tissue guard (total of eight full page illustrations by W. Appleton Clark). Eight stories, 296 pages..
