Black paper on the boards with gilt lettering on the spine. Square and firmly bound, a scratch and indent to the top of the fore-edge, clean internally. Thompson's first novel, though not published until forty years after its writing. Compared on the back wrap to Heminway's "The Sun Also Rises.

Synopsis

One of Hunter S. Thompson's earlier works,  The Rum Diary chronicles the tale of a young journalist named Paul Kemp, who finds himself wading through the bars and slums of Puerto Rico, writing for a failing newspaper.
