Edition limited to 90 copies (plus 6 for private distribution); folio, pp. [3]; 8 tip-ins, including one of 8 pages, also with a tip-in; original pea-green cloth over marbled paper-covered boards, printed paper label on spine; fine copy, beautifully produced. A rhapsody on the Sabon typeface, with commentary by Jan Tschichold (its first appearance in English) and Jost Hochuli, two essays from the 1960s translated into English with sample settings of foundry Sabon 12-48 pt D. Sabon (d. 1580) was a mid-16th-century punchcutter and founder of printing types from Lyons, France about whose life and work very little is known.
