The spine & its gilt titling are faded; the covers are bumped & soiled. x & 294 pp. B&W frontispiece & B&W photographic illustrations. 1 leaf of illustrations is partially detached with the front edge somewhat roughed, else the contents are very good. <p>First edition.<p>Martin Johnson and his wife sailed from New York in December 1923 with a view to filming "more completely than it had ever been done before, a record of Africa's fast vanishing wild life...." They explored, and eventually settled in British East Africa.
