About This Item
London: Macdonald, 1951. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition (states "first published in Great Britain in 1951 by Macdonald and Co" on the copyright page). Publisher's red boards with black lettering to the spine. A touch of foxing to text block edges else fine in a slightly spotted/ soiled/ rubbed and spine-faded (was bright yellow, now pale yellow) D/W that has been reinforced discreetly (with a glued down strip of matching paper approx. 0.5 cm X 4 cm) on the REVERSE side at the tips of the spine. This reinforcement was totally unnecessary as the D/W is fully intact without any loss hence VG+. N.B: classic western adapted for film numerous times. The back panel of the D/W has a photographic image from one of the movie adaptations. Great cover art by Randell. Looks much better than it sounds. Photographs/scans available upon request.
