This book was written with the thought of preserving, while available, reliable information about the story of the earliest pioneer white settlers who journeyed to the northwestern section of Illinois, known then as the Blackhawk, Indian Reservation. Written in a narrative form based on conversations with the author's father who arrived in the area in 1849 a story develops regarding the family and its involvement in the settling of the northwest of Illinois while it was an Indian Reservation and after. A clean very presentable copy.
