About This Item

New York: Farrar, Straus, & Giroux, 2014. First Edition. Plain green boards in dust jacket; 8vo. 193 pp. Fine copy in a fine dust jacket save a front flap fold (in removable protective archival cover). Robertson is well known in literary circles in the UK as an award-winning poet and as an editor, presently at Jonathan Cape. He is credited with launching the careers of A. L. Kennedy, Booker winner Anne Enright, Irvine Welsh, James Kelman and has edited Ben Okri, Michael Longley, Anne Carson, Geoffrey Hill, Sharon Olds, and J.M. Coetzee, among others. Like his fellow Scotsman Don Paterson, who is also his editor, because of his day job he has spent little time in the US. Subsequently, he is not as well-known as some contemporaries who have spent time here teaching.
