Boston: Wiggin & Lunt, 1867. First edition. First edition. xl, [ii],469; [vi], 553 pp. with illustrations and folding map at front of first volume. Complete in two volumes, bound in publisher's green cloth with gilt stamping. Very Good, lightly worn with a few marginal notes in pencil; repair along back edge of spine of vol. 1; rear hinge of vol. 1 cracked but holding. Rare.

One of the first histories of Salem, Massachusetts's infamous witch trials in 1692 and 1692, a work that is still cited and in print today. It was written by a former Salem mayor and minister of the First Church of Salem.
