A family copy with an affectionate presentation inscription from Fowler to his son, also named Gene: "To my much-loved son, Gene, and may you know that I am proud of everything you do. Always. From your father, Gene Fowler, Nov. 11, 1937." Gene Fowler, Jr. became a prominent film editor in Hollywood, and directed the cult-classic "I Was a Teenage Werewolf.
